music

I guess I got the bug for music as young as 4, when my parents signed me up for piano lessons. I had a hate-love relationship with piano lessons growing up, but the love (and very gratefully, memory and ear) for classical (and later, all sorts of) music has stuck.

In May 2021, I started hosting a weekly radio show (on Acik Radyo - one of the leading independent radio channels in Turkey) called Jukebox, the gist of which was a musical journey from the 1900s through the 80s, on all genres that found a home for themselves in the jukebox.

After Jukebox, I hosted alan (Turkish was ‘room’ or ‘space’), which ran for two seasons.

In the meantime, friends started asking me to make playlists for their coffee shops, parties, photoshoots, or even as birthday gifts. I also got to DJ a restaurant’s new menu launch in Istanbul.

All goes to say: I love curating music for different occasions and seeing people have true, joyous fun.
